Thanks for the heads up on Tyra's show, Lori! I never watch her, but did today. It was good - amazing at how we just can't hear the truth when we believe what we believe. Those women had these horrible beliefs about themselves, and they just couldn't hear that they weren't fat or ugly.

It was a good show. I almost wish I could be part of her experiments, to see if I'm disillusioned about my body size!

Yes, it's heartbreaking to see these individuals who are in so much pain about their appearance. I'm glad Tyra has been tackling such issues, as she has so much influence on the general public. It's a step in the right direction happy

Did you see her show on eating disorders?

No, this was my first time watching Tyra! She was so warm, understanding, and compassionate - I was really surprised. I guess I'd labelled her as a beautiful cold supermodel, out for ratings. My mistake, she seemed like a wonderful host -- and I've actually read that she's like that in person, too. Score one for the good girls! happy

I really think it is wrong for people to only talk about women and there eating disorders. Men have the problem to. Look every time someone does a talk show about eating disorders they only have women on it they should do one with men on it. I have posted other things on other sites and like i said in them I am a college student and I have had an eating disorder since high school and I have been hiding it for along time.

Thanks for posting. This particular show that Tyra did featured about half men and half women. There were men on that had anorexia, while another had "bigorexia." Slowly more research is being done and, hopefully, that will reflect in the treatment, help and information available for men with eating disorders.

Has a discussion about Tyra's current weight. The key thing here is that men view beautiful as normal weight!
