You Are Not Alone is the message this book of eating disorder help will have. It will have recovery stories from those who have recovered from anorexia, bulimia and binge eating. Recovery stories like these are a large part of eating disorder treatment programs.
Andrea Roe is spearheading the project and paving the way for people to recover. At only 24 years old, she has fought and won her own battle with anorexia and bulimia, which she struggled with for 6 years. She was born in Austria and now lives, with her husband, in British Columbia, Canada.
She has created a website for people to find information about disordered eating, as well as personal stories, a support forum and chat and links and resources to many other sites. It has polls you can take, information about sexual abuse, self-injury, celebrities, males and athletes. It is a comprehensive and packed resource by someone truly passionate about making a difference.
She will be publishing a book this summer called You Are Not Alone, which is a collection of writing from 33 women. She has edited them together and included information about her own struggle and recovery. The book will be featured here when it is released.
