Seeking Help for Anorexia in AdolescentsA Mother Deals with an Eating Disorder in her Teen Daughter
Seeking help for anorexia in adolescents, a mother deals with an eating disorder in her teen daughter and seeks recovery.
When a mother finds out her daughter is anorexic, she deals by seeking help for recovery. As the eating disorder develops, she tries to help her teen daughter in any way she can. Jan’s daughter was diagnosed with anorexia when she was 15 years old. After going through all of the tried and true ways of getting help- consultants, individual and multi-family therapy- she was at a loss when her daughter became sicker. After admitting her to the hospital and to a specialist adolescent eating disorders unit, she was able to stay there for a few weeks and did make some progress. But the distress at being away from home was too much and she returned without recovering. The teenager had lost faith in the medical profession by then and would not see anyone else. But she was still anorexic and needed help. Her mother began looking for other ways in which to encourage her daughter to seek treatment and found a healing system called "BodyTalk." "BodyTalk" is a holistic healing technique that is designed to harmonize all the energy systems in the body to achieve and maintain an optimal healthy balance. Her daughter went through this method and has had success. Jan has now become a certified "BodyTalk" practitioner and member of the International BodyTalk Association. Her clinic is located in Haslemere, Surrey (United Kingdom). You can contact her through her website at: www.bodytalkhealth.co.uk.
