A 15-year battle with anorexia, bulimia, depression and anxiety spawned Shannon Cutt's career as a songwriter and youth mentor.

The key to life philosophy by Shannon Cutts is a profound one. She has used her experience from recovering from eating disorders to help others. Her positive thinking outsmarted anorexia, bulimia, depression and anxiety to become a youth mentor.

The road to recovery can be a long and treacherous one, but with the help of someone who has been there, it can be a learning and growing experience.

Shannon Cutts is a survivor and, after recovering from her tumultuous past of eating disorders and other turmoil, she began presenting motivational and inspirational concerts for others. This led to offers of speaking engagements in order to share the story behind the music and has continued on in her work as a motivational speaker.

Not one to be idle, Shannon them started her Key to Life: unlocking the door to hope outreach programs. This is where she speaks with medical students, clinicians, educators, youth, college students, parents, women and communities about the hope there is to recovery.

  • Behind the Mask: An Eating Disorders Open House: hosted by Shannon and co-hosted by the organizer, she opens a forum to discuss awareness and intervention in the community.
  • Behind This Mask: There Is Someone Real Online Support Community: participate in Shannon’s on-line support group, hosted by MySpace (link below to her website).
